Cooks Coffee Company Limited provided information on store openings and a trading update for the first ten weeks of the financial year for the Company's Esquires Organic Coffee Company brand. Esquires has experienced strong growth across both the UK and Ireland markets, with notable increases in sales and successful new store openings.
Highlights
• Overall Esquires store sales for the period increased by 23.7%.
• For the past seven weeks, Esquires branded stores in UK & Ireland achieved aggregate sales exceeding £600,000 each week and recorded over 80,000 transactions weekly. The Company states that this level of performance had only been surpassed twice previously, including the Christmas week of last year.
• Five new stores were opened in the UK in Colliers Wood, Newport, Sudbury, Pinner, and Ruislip during April & May 2024.
• One new store was opened in Ireland: Galway - Wellpark in April 2024.

Invinity Energy Systems plc announced a 4 MWh sale to PowerFlex, part of EDF Renewables North America. The batteries will be used in a California Energy Commission-funded solar microgrid project being undertaken by the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians. The project will see 18 Invinity VS3 vanadium flow batteries, with a combined capacity of 4 MWh, installed by PowerFlex as part of a large-scale solar microgrid project. Invinity's batteries will be used to store excess solar generation which can be discharged on-demand to provide economic, low-carbon power to the site at any time of the day or night. Delivery of the Invinity batteries is expected to occur before the end of 2024. The contract was included as part of the Company's Base category in its most recently disclosed commercial pipeline. Tap Global Group Plc announced the launch of its US service offering via the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary Tap Americas LLC.
Tap Americas is operating in partnership with Zero Hash LLC, a Chicago-based B2B2C crypto and stablecoin infrastructure platform that is licensed in the US. The Company states the US launch is expected to significantly expand Tap Group’s user base, accelerating the Company’s growth globally. Tap Americas’ initial offering provides US users with access to the core suite of services, with new features and add-ons in the pipeline. EDX Medical Group plc announced a strategic expansion of its cancer testing capability. EDX Medical is to launch comprehensive hereditary germline cancer testing products and services designed to accurately predict if family members of cancer patients are at increased risk from the disease. The first test to be made available to health professionals in the UK is a pan-cancer test which achieves 99% sensitivity and identifies mutations in 70 genes known to be associated with cancers which have a strong inherited, genetic component including prostate, breast, colorectal, pancreatic and ovarian cancers in a single test.
The Company says the test will be available later this summer through private healthcare providers and via specific NHS Genetic and Genomic Testing Centres in cases where family members of cancer patients can be screened for genetic risk of cancer.
